Big Brother 2020: Channel 7s huge mistake letting Angela be evicted
Channel 7 has made a big mistake on par with the night they killed off Shane on Home And Away and Angel scream-cried for help on that rock.
Big Brother’s breakout star Angela Clancy was last night booted from the house for a second time and, unlike the first time she was evicted, producers have failed to break more rules in order to keep her on screen.
Angela did not have just one Angel scream-crying on a rock at her demise. Around the country, thousands of Angels clamoured up on the metaphorical rock of Twitter and scream-cried at the loss.
“I’m not lying Channel 7, I actually won’t watch if Ange goes home,” one viewer wrote on Twitter.
“If Angela leaves, this might be the last time I watch this show. She’s literally the heart and soul of this series,” came another post, while another added: “No point to watch the rest of the season.”

Producers as well as viewers knew Angela was a true star from the second she appeared on screen.
“I’m Ange-a-licious and I grew up in the Beverly Hills of Kenya,” were the first words she uttered upon introduction – that one sentence instantly securing her status as an icon and a superstar.
Then she made host Sonia Kruger lug her suitcase into the house instead of carrying it herself.
Her English breakfast tea obsession received a dedicated week-long story arc that climaxed when she smuggled tea bags in her bra, dropped one in the toilet and proceeded to use it. A star was born.
On the first night, she dubbed herself the queen of the house and told the other housemates to their faces that they were her staff.
It was this out-of-touch audaciousness that provided a reason to watch the Big Brother revamp. The rest of the housemates had nothing to offer and producers knew it. That’s why, when Angela was first voted out – after accusing everyone of treating the show like Centrelink – they frantically made up a new rule to keep her on the series.
She was secretly made Big Brother’s 2IC and monitored her former housemates from a secret bunker. Days later, she was reinstalled in the house. Is that even allowed? Nobody cared. Viewers were happy for rules to be broken as long as Ange-a-licious was kept in the house.
But producers played their trump card too early. Of course the moment she was ushered back into the house, the other housemates quickly plotted how to oust her again. That’s how these shows work. The best people get kicked out because they’re threats.
Why couldn’t producers do what all those other reality shows do and just make up more stupid rules? Give her an immunity card and shove her back in the front door. In 2020 there are no rules and we’re just making everything up as we go along. Now is the time to give the people what they want.
Seven needs to do what is right here and sign Ange-a-licious to the network. Her talents can be applied to all their TV offerings.
Ange-a-licious filling in on Sunrise? Yes please.
And House Rules! We could watch hours of Ange waltzing in and out of all those losers’ homes and criticising their gross revamps.
She could jazz up the Olympic coverage.
Whack her in Summer Bay, too. She could carry a three-week story arc as a hot shot property developer who buys that dusty old caravan park for a steal and arrives in town ready to turn it into the new Gold Coast. Of course, the townsfolk object and Alf chains himself to the roof of the diner in protest. One morning all the locals wake up to find she has demolished Pippa’s old house without a permit and the town goes feral. It’s the reinvigoration Home And Away needs.
The jewel in Seven’s 2021 programming slate can be The Real Housewives of The Beverly Hills Of Kenya.
If this is not commissioned, Seven bosses are not doing their job.
